We Belong Manifesto

Re-shaping the Future of European societies

Our Vision

We aim to foster inclusivity in society by promoting discussions led by minorities. We hope to encourage leaders in re-thinking and re-shaping solutions regarding Diversity, Equity, Inclusion & Belonging (DEIB) issues.

In order to guarantee the integrity of our events and programs, we see it as our responsibility to create safe spaces in which everyone feels as though they have a seat at the table. We want our story-tellers to feel invited, seen, heard, and, most importantly, respected so they can be their most authentic selves.

Equity, Diversity, and Belonging (EDB) are part of our work ethos, and we wish for it to be transmitted in our events and programs. We apply this approach beyond singular activities - from the partners we choose to the physical places in which we convene.

We believe that spaces have the ability to provoke cathartic reactions, and we stress the importance of respecting those spaces and those who work in and take care of them.

In these places and throughout our program, we set the intention to implement an environment that is welcoming to everyone without being discriminative of people's physical and physiological hurdles, and where open discussions, personal reinvention, and collaborative learning are celebrated. It is important to note that, in order to ensure safe spaces, each participant needs to consent for their picture to be taken and to be posted on a digital platform.

EQUITY: We Belong aims to create an environment of fairness, where each participant has access to the programs, opportunities, and events locations in a manner that tailors to their personal needs.

DIVERSITY: Discrimination is not a monolith. We believe that various experiences highlight different acts of discrimination. The notion of intersectionality highlights the richness of our society and the importance of it being represented. We welcome people of all genders, race, abilities, sexualities, classes, religious beliefs, ages, and backgrounds.

BELONGING: We want to create environments where people have the courage to be their authentic selves without fearing prejudice, and where they can share their stories, feel heard, and where their experiences will not be questioned, undermined, and discredited.
